Hi there! We’re Lindsey Chance and Jerry Herrod —your local farmers behind Papa J’s Produce.

Our farm is a family-run labor of love rooted in Holly Grove, Arkansas, where fresh food, hard work, and community still matter. What started as a few backyard rows of vegetables has grown into a full-fledged produce farm with a mission: to provide our neighbors with honest-to-goodness, hand-picked fruits and veggies—straight from our fields to your table.

Jerry Ray Harrod, affectionately known as Papa J, although he grew up working this soil in his childhood days, he spent over 40 years in the liquor and wine business. Since retirement in 2020, he has returned to rural Monroe County and is the wise hands and wise heart behind it all.

Lindsey Lee Chance, his daughter, grew up twirling, tapping and making mud pies. Today, she works right alongside him -bringing energy, vision, and a heart for connecting with customers.

Together, we believe farming is more than just food—it’s about family, faith, and feeding the people you love.

What We Grow

From summer squash to sweet corn, juicy tomatoes to crisp cucumbers, everything we grow is planted, picked, and packaged with care. We keep it simple, seasonal, and fresh—just the way it should be.

You can follow us on Instagram and request to be on our customer list so you can receive the latest news & offerings of our produce when we harvest!

Why We Do It

At Papa J’s Produce, we don’t just grow food—we grow connection. Our favorite moments aren’t just out in the fields, but are when our friends and family reconnect with their own family memories via fresh food from the garden. We often hear them say things like “my grandfather used to grow peas, or my grandmother used to make the best squash casseroles”. We love the thought that we are teaching your kids what a real tomato tastes like.

We’re passionate about preserving the values that built this farm—faith, family, and feeding folks well. It’s not just our hobby, it’s our joy.
